As part of a special February collection I chose the iconic amethyst to represent you February babes.

This February, we are graced with a remarkable solar eclipse known as the ring of fire, coinciding beautifully with the onset of a new lunar cycle. The Chinese New Year ushers in the first of these celestial events, and on the 17th, we celebrate the Fire Horse.

Amethyst is believed to bring spiritual growth, intuition and inner peace, it activates a connection with the universe.

Amethyst is commonly found in volcanic rock and can take millions of years and a little radiation to crystallise into its beauty. Amethyst is a type of quartz composed of silicon and oxygen, its starts when hydrothermal activity (magma heating beneath the surface) seeps a gas into pockets of the earth and starts to crystallise. The purple comes from the natural radiation affecting iron impurities which alters the way it inters with light.
