Flamed Agate Necklace Pendant

Flamed agate (lace or mexican agate) is beautiful and unique, each piece is not like another which is something I love about the agate family.
I chose flame agate to go with The woodland muse collection because it reminded me of the beautiful moss waking up to the damper weather, the old summer leaves crunching beneath your feet as the sun starts to sets earlier. It felt like autumn encapsulated in a gem.

Agate can take millions of years to take formation, starting from volcanic vents that release silica rich fluids into cracks of rocks, and other earthly materials, which over time crystallise into these beautiful gems. Historically it has been used through many civilisations, the Greeks it symbolised Gaia the goddess of earth, the Romans associated it with dawn and the goddess Aurora and the celts had the Welsh goddess Ceridwen who was the goddess to death and fertility.
