Flamed Muse Necklace

Inspired by autumn and the seasonal changes the goddess Banba came to mind. Banba (Banbha) being a Celtic goddess of autumn, I had to find a gemstone that reminded me of the mesmerising colours of the sun dappled moss. I added a couple of double spirals which symbolise balance, duality and harmonious interplay between two energies.

Agate can take millions of years to take formation, starting from volcanic vents that release silica rich fluids into cracks of rocks, and other earthly materials, which over time crystallise into these beautiful gems. Historically it has been used through many civilisations, the Greeks it symbolised Gaia the goddess of earth, the Romans associated it with dawn and the goddess Aurora and the celts had the Welsh goddess Ceridwen who was the goddess to death and fertility.
