Snowflake Obsidian is a natural volcanic glass containing cristobalite, a type of quartz. It can be found anywhere tha has experienced volcanic eruption with rapid cooling, this means it has been used since ancient times, as far back as two thousand years.
Historically snowflake obsidian has been used as a talisman in ceremonies and rituals to protect and ward off evil spirits. Renowned for its resilience the Mayans used snowflake obsidian for tools such as, arrowheads and blades.
